Twin blasts at India's Jammu airport

Global New News Desk -

This is the first time an unmanned aircraft or drone has been attacked in an Indian military installation. Indian media outlet NDTV reported that the blast was believed to have been caused by a drone strike. This is the first drone strike on a military base in the country.

The blasts occurred five minutes into the night local time last Saturday. Two members of the Indian Air Force (IAF) were injured. However, their injuries are not serious. However, the Air Force has moved on the issue. An investigation has been launched into the incident.

The attack targeted warplanes and helicopters.

According to the report, a pair of explosions took place at the Air Force Station at Jammu Airport, just 16 km from the Pakistan border, on Saturday night. The first blast occurred at 1:38 p.m. Six minutes later, at 1:43 pm, a second explosion was heard.

The roof of the technical branch of the station was damaged in an explosion. Another blast occurred in the open. Although the damage was not so great, the investigators are getting indications of a big conspiracy behind this incident. The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a U.S. military base. Somehow the drone missed the target.

An FIR has been lodged under the Prevention of Illegal Activities Act.

A team of central bomb experts and forensic experts has already visited the spot and started investigation. Two suspects have been arrested. However, no details were known about them. An FIR has also been filed under the Prevention of Illegal Activities Act.

Experts from the National Bomb Disposal Bureau, Jammu and Kashmir Police and members of the forensic team went there shortly after the twin blasts at the already security-covered military installation. Officials at the National Investigation Agency (NIA) have reached the military base, just 16 kilometers from the Pakistani border. They consider it a 'serious incident' in the initial investigation.
