Apple Daily Managing Editor and Lead Opinion Writer Arrested On Sunday he was on his way to the airport to leave the city. That's when he was arrested.



Police have arrested Fung Wei Kong, the editor-in-chief of the Apple Daily. He was arrested last Sunday after the newspaper stopped publishing last Thursday.

Hong Kong police have confirmed the arrest of 56-year-old Fung Wei Kong, accusing him of violating national security and collaborating with foreign powers.



Police, however, named the detainee as Lo Fung. However, local media reported that his opinion columns were published under the pseudonym Fung Wei Kong Lo Fung. They said he had been detained for questioning.



A lawsuit has also been filed against the closed Apple Daily for publishing articles on illegal identities under China's security laws.
