India's Jammu and Kashmir is hot again, killing 4 including two policemen

Global New News Desk -

After a few days of not getting better, the Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir became hot again. At least four people, including two policemen, were killed in the attack in Sopore. Three other members of the Indian police were reportedly injured in the attack.

Kashmir Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar said the attack killed two policemen and two civilians. Three other policemen were also injured. The forces have cordoned off the entire area in search of terrorists.

A joint force of police and CRP was patrolling the Sopore area of Baramulla on Saturday. At that time, a group of terrorists fired at the police. Later, the police also fired back, causing casualties.

Kashmir Police Director General Dilbag Singh said the two policemen killed were Wasim Ahmed and Shawkat Ahmed. They were police constables. Dilbag alleged that Lashkar-e-Taiba was involved in the attack. He said security had been beefed up at Sopore, the site of the attack. Additional police have been deployed.

Meanwhile, locals have staged anti-India protests at the graves of the dead. They claimed that police shot and killed a civilian after the attackers left the scene. Former Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has condemned the incident. Condolences to the families of the injured and the dead.

Meanwhile, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and leader of the National Conference political party Omar Abdullah has strongly condemned the incident. He said such attacks must be condemned without any doubt.

I wish a speedy recovery to those injured. Condolences to the families of the deceased.

More than 100,000 Kashmiri people have been killed so far in the disputed area. In August 2019, India revoked the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. As a result, the special rights that Kashmir had enjoyed for so long were rejected. At the same time, the state of Jammu and Kashmir was divided into two separate Union Territories. One is Ladakh and the other is Jammu and Kashmir. Narendra Modi's BJP government said India had taken such a decision for the overall development of the region.
