In separate raids in Sirajganj's Sadar and Raiganj, RAB-12 detained three people including heroin, yaba and cannabis plants.
According to RAB, the operation was carried out by a special company of RAB-12 on Wednesday (August 25) at around 12:15 pm on the basis of secret information.


The vigilante team carried out an anti-drug operation in Kadda Keshtpur village of Sadar police station of Sirajganj district. A man named Kali Sheikh (41) was arrested by the RAB. At that time, Tk 1,000 in cash used for buying and selling drugs was seized from him. He is the son of late Alimuddin Sheikh of Kadda Keshtpur village in Sadar upazila of Sirajganj district.


The arrested drug dealer had filed a case under Section 6 (a) / 10 (a) / 18 (a) of Table 36 (1) of the Narcotics Control Act of 2016 and was handed over to the Sadar Police Station of Sirajganj district along with the recovered evidence.

Separate raids were carried out on Tuesday (August 24) at around 9:15 pm on the basis of secret information. An anti-drug drive was carried out on a paved road in front of Abed Ali's house. During this time, two top drug dealers were arrested along with yaba. Ninety pitch yaba and 3 mobile phones used for buying and selling drugs were also seized along with Rs 16,000 (sixteen thousand) in cash.


The arrested accused are, Md. Chakmohan Bashuria village of Raiganj police station of Sirajganj district. A. Sattar's son said. A. Jabbar (30) and son of late Solaiman Sheikh of Hasna village of Sirajganj Sadar upazila. A. Hamid (34).


The arrested drug dealers were handed over to Raiganj police station of Sirajganj district along with the recovered evidence while filing a case under Section 10 (a) of Table 36 (1) of the Narcotics Control Act, 2016.

Preliminary interrogation revealed that these drug traffickers had been buying and selling illegal narcotics in different areas of Sirajganj district for a long time under the guise of law enforcement agencies.
