YouTube will pay 100 million to short video makers

Global New News Desk -

In addition to engaging content creators on the platform, YouTube will distribute ১০ 100 million to attract viewers. The fund was officially launched last Tuesday. From now until the end of next year, the platform will pay for content creators.

YouTube will pay 100 to 10 thousand dollars depending on the number of views and the most viewers in a content. However, YouTube did not provide details about the minimum number of times the money can be found in the shorts video. Short videos posted within 180 days following community guidelines will be considered eligible for funding.

There are conditions here as well as writing in small letters in the advertisement. First, videos need to be popular. That measure of popularity will be based on how many people are making videos for YouTube shorts and watching them. The Verge reports that the amount of money depends on which region of the world the viewers are watching the videos from.

Last month, YouTube launched the shorts feature in hundreds of countries around the world to compete with the short-length video platform TickTock. This feature allows YouTube to upload videos up to a maximum length of 60 seconds. This time, the platform owned by Google has announced to pay the creators of shorts to make the feature popular.

Another thing is that the videos have to be 'original'. Do not download from any other platform and re-upload. If they have logos or names of platforms like TickTock, Snapchat or Instagram Reel, that channel will be considered ineligible for money.

Initially, producers from 10 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, India, and Brazil, will receive money from the fund to make videos on YouTube shorts. There is no name of Bangladesh at the moment, but there are plans to increase the list of countries in stages, according to YouTube.

Producers on YouTube usually get paid to show ads on their videos. Every time the ad is seen there, there is a relationship with the money received. However, YouTube does not want to show advertisements in every video in shorts. That's why manufacturers are trying to find alternative ways to pay.

But later monetization will be arranged through another program, said Neil Mohan, chief product officer of YouTube.

TechCrunch has been told by YouTube authorities that they want to pay as many content creators as possible, for which a minimum of ড 100 will also be paid. However, content shared on any other platform will not be considered for payment.

This month, YouTube is launching shorts fund activities in 10 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan and India. The service will be launched in other countries including Bangladesh in phases. When launching the shorts feature, YouTube said that content creators can earn money in 10 ways including advertising, YouTube premium subscription, channel membership, super chats, super thanks, super stickers. This time it was associated with the Shorts Fund.
