US law identifies the Taliban as a terrorist organization - Facebook

Taliban not on US State Department's list of foreign terrorist organizations: YouTube

The Taliban is not on the list of foreign terrorist organizations in the United States

Global New News Desk -

The Taliban is not listed on the list of foreign terrorist organizations in the United States. Accounts of former US President Donald Trump and Myanmar's military have also been banned.

According to YouTube, the Taliban is not on the US State Department's list of foreign terrorist organizations. However, the United States considers the Taliban a "specialized global terrorist group" and confiscates the assets of blacklisted individuals and organizations in the United States and bans U.S. citizens from conducting any activities with them.

But despite the ban, Taliban members continue to communicate with each other using Facebook's affiliate WhatsApp's end-to-end encrypted messaging service, according to a report by the British news agency Reuters. A Facebook spokesman said the organization was closely monitoring the situation in Afghanistan. If a WhatsApp user is found to have links with an organization that is under restrictions, disciplinary action may be taken to delete his or her account.

Meanwhile, Taliban spokesmen have used Twitter to reach thousands of followers since taking control of Afghanistan. Asked about this, the Twitter authorities told Reuters about the policy on 'violent organizations and hateful content'. However, they did not answer any question on the basis of which they classify. According to Twitter's policy, they do not allow any organization that spreads terror and violence against civilians to use their services.

As the Taliban return to power, many fear that the organization will undermine freedom of speech and human rights, especially women's rights. Some think the country could become a sanctuary for global terrorism. The Taliban leaders said in a statement that they wanted to build peaceful international relations and were committed to protecting Afghan citizens. They have even announced a general amnesty. They also invited women to form a government on Tuesday.

This year, social media has taken a number of important decisions regarding the accounts of world leaders and leaders of different parties. It also banned the accounts of former US President Donald Trump and Myanmar's military.

Google's affiliate YouTube did not provide a direct answer to a question on whether there were any restrictions on the Taliban. YouTube says it relies on governments in various countries to identify foreign terrorist organizations and violent criminals.
