The U.S. Navy said the helicopter flew from the USS Abraham Lincoln and crashed into the Pacific Ocean just 60 nautical miles off the coast of San Diego on Tuesday afternoon, local time. The helicopter was under routine flight operations at the time.


A U.S. Navy statement said the MH-60S helicopter crashed in the Pacific Ocean on August 31. A search and rescue operation has been launched to find the missing sailors. During the search operation, 34 rescue flights were conducted to rescue the missing persons. Helicopters and rescue ships were also used to search for the sailors.
