Rape and murder case against eight people including Bashundhara MD Anvir in Bangladesh. A case of rape and murder has been registered against Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir, eight people including his wife and parents in connection with the death of college student Munia who died at a house in Gulshan on April 26, 2021. The case was filed by the sister of the deceased at the Women and Child Abuse Suppression Tribunal-8 in Dhaka on Monday. In addition to Anvir, the other accused in the case are the owner of the house where the dead girl lived, including a few others. However, a spokesman for the Bashundhara Group called the case "maliciously motivated".
"It simply came to our notice then that he had been released. Against the police report, we reluctantly applied for transfer to the Women and Child Abuse Suppression Court. That too was not accepted. "That's why today we have filed the case directly in the Women and Child Abuse Suppression Court," he said.

The elder sister filed a case against Bashundhara Group MD Sayem Sobhan Anvir alleging incitement to suicide. Sayem Sobhan Anvir was acquitted on August 16 in that case.
Regarding the case, Bashundhara Group's media adviser Mohammad Abu Tayyab said, "Legally, they will deal with the case." This case is for the purpose of blackmailing Banuwat and Bashundhara, '' he says.
Earlier, Bashundhara MD was acquitted in Munia's suicide incitement case
It may be mentioned that Munia, a college student, died on April 26, 2021 at a house in Gulshan. Immediately after his death, his sister Nusrat Jahan filed a case against Bashundhara MD at Gulshan police station. He was charged with incitement to suicide in the conspiracy case. After a three-month investigation, the police did not find any involvement of Bashundhara MD in the incident and submitted a final report.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury on Wednesday (August 18th) accepted the final report submitted by Gulshan police in Munia's suicide incitement case. Bashundhara Group Managing Director (MD) Sayem Sobhan Anvir has been acquitted by a court in a conspiracy case of incitement to suicide.
At the same time, the court rejected Munia's sister Nusrat Jahan's appeal against the police report as there was no logical reason for it.
The investigating officer of the case submitted the final report to the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court on July 19 as the plaintiff could not present any documentary, direct or indirect, oral or legal evidence or any evidence relevant to the incident. The police report stated that Bashundhara MD was not involved in inciting Munia to commit suicide. That is why he was asked to be acquitted of the charges in the case.
The court then fixed July 29 for hearing on the report. At the same time, the plaintiff was also given notice to appear on the due date. The hearing was not held on the same day as the normal proceedings of the court were closed due to the transmission of corona virus. For this reason, the next hearing was scheduled for August 18. Lawyer Masud Salauddin filed an objection against the final report on behalf of plaintiff Nusrat Jahan Tania on Tuesday.
The court, after hearing the plaintiff's statement, reviewed the documents and accepted the police report and ordered on Wednesday. In the order, the MD of Bashundhara Group was acquitted.
The order said that since the investigation of the case did not find any charges against the accused, the police submitted a final report to the court recommending the accused's release. This report was reviewed and accepted. At the same time, Badini's appeal was rejected as there was no logical reason. The accused was acquitted of the case.
This order proves that the person accused of inciting Munia's suicide is not accused at all and no incident of incitement to suicide has taken place.
According to the investigation report submitted by the police to the court, the investigation officer reviewed the evidence obtained during the investigation of the case, the autopsy report and the forensic examination report. Statements of other witnesses including the owner of the flat were taken at the scene. The investigating officer even conducted investigative activities at Munia's educational institution. During the investigation, the investigating officer also collected information about the victim's life. Against the accused in the overall investigationThe investigating officer did not find any direct or indirect evidence regarding the allegation of aiding and abetting the victim's suicide by the plaintiff in the case. After receiving this report, the court also took time to review it thoroughly. Then ordered.
