Sirajganj RAB arrested two people with phencidyl. According to RAB, the operation was carried out on Tuesday (September 21) at around 5.30 am on the basis of secret information, led by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) John Rana, the acting company commander of RAB-12's special company.
The Special Company's vigilante team carried out an anti-drug operation on a paved road in front of the North Villa Hotel and Restaurant near Hatikumrul Roundabout in Uttarpara village of Chariashikar under Salanga police station in Sirajganj district.
During this time, two drug dealers were arrested along with 97 bottles of Fencidil. A pickup van (Dhaka Metro-N-19-58), three mobile phones and cash worth Tk 1,200 were seized from them.
The arrested accused are Md. Hamidul Islam (20), father - Md. Montaz Mandal, Sang - East Ramchandrapur. And Md. Saeed Nur (30), father - deceased Azimuddin, village - North Krishnapur, both police stations - Panchbibi, district - Joypurhat.
The arrested drug dealers have been handed over to Salanga police station along with the recovered evidence.
Preliminary interrogation revealed that these drug traffickers had been buying and selling illegal narcotics in different areas of Bogra and Sirajganj districts for a long time under the guise of law enforcement agencies.
