RAB has arrested 3 cannabis traders in Bogra. Since its inception, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has been playing a leading role in bringing all types of criminals under the purview of the law with a view to maintaining the overall law and order situation in the country.
RAB regular operations,
The RAB has been conducting regular raids to nab militants, terrorists, organized criminals, snatchers, gamblers, drug dealers, murderers and kidnappers in various sensational cases.
Following this, RAB-12 Adjutant and Ops Officer Assistant Superintendent of Police Md. Mostafizur Rahman led the operation on Sunday (May 30) at 4 pm.
A vigilante expedition team of Sadar Company conducted an anti-drug operation on the verandah inside the residence of Mosa: Hasina Begum, elected female member of ward no.
At that time 03 top drug dealers were arrested with 01 kg 500 gm (one kg five hundred gm) cannabis. 03 mobile phones used for buying and selling drugs were seized from them.
The arrested accused,
Md. Milon Hossain (42), father- Md. Dasher Ali, present Sang- Ashan village, Thana- Sherpur, District- Bogra
Md. Helal (45), father-deceased Jabed Alai, Sang-Labankota, and
Shri Montu Chandra Mahat, father- deceased: Jatadhari Mahat. Both villages - Mahisachapar, both thanas - Raiganj and District - Sirajganj.
Preliminary interrogation revealed that these drug traffickers had been buying and selling illegal narcotics in different areas of Bogra district for a long time under the guise of law enforcement agencies.
Handed over to police station,
The arrested drug dealers were handed over to Sherpur Police Station of Bogra district along with the recovered evidence while filing a case under Section 10 (a) of Table 36 (1) of the Narcotics Control Act, 2016.
